Most people have taken Disney vacations - so this is a topic that will interest just about anyone. And some people may have heard all there is to know about the Magic Kingdom theme park. But have they heard some Disney World facts about the man himself?
Here are some fun facts about Walt Disney:
He was born in Chicago on December 5, 1901.
His first motion picture was a 1928 short called "Steamboat Willie"
He only attended one year of high school. (Parents may not want to emphasize this one too much - especially with those school shy pre-adolescents. ;-) )
The Walt Disney Company started out as the Disney Brothers Studio - formed by Walt and his brother Roy in 1923. But Roy felt that Walt's name should be the prominent one and the Studio soon changed its name to the Walt Disney Studio.
Walt Disney was 25 years old when he grew his famous mustache
He was the voice of Mickey Mouse for 20 years.
He often ate lunch at his desk.
He admittedly was "scared to death" when he had to introduce episodes of the "Disneyland" television series on camera.
And one last fact - he won 32 Oscars - more than anyone else.
