Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
Works Well for Families of Four
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is a Southwestern/Mexican paradise right in central Florida.
This is one of the moderate Disney Resorts so the prices are better but the rooms are a bit smaller than the deluxe resorts and,
of course, much smaller than any of the deluxe villas.
At 314 square feet the rooms are averaged sized - and if you don't plan to spend a lot of
time in the room then they are quite adequate. Most rooms are equipped with two double beds.
What this means is that a family of four can sleep comfortably but a larger group would have to opt for two rooms.
The following is a picture of one of the standard guestrooms:
The Coronado Springs Resort is a large property that is set around a 15 acre man-made lake called Lago Dorado.
Some of the furthest rooms can be a long walk to the buses and restaurants so keep that in mind when checking in.
What is unique about this resort is that it is also a convention center.
Obviously, business conferences may be taking place here during your vacation.
Is this a problem? I honestly don't think it would bother me. The restaurants may be more crowded -
but other than the breakfast rush, we typically eat most of our meals in the parks.
As I am on the subject of dining - there are two dining options here. One table service and one counter service.
Mexican food lovers will surely enjoy the selection of delicious wraps and icy cold margaritas
(although more traditional American fare is offered as well).
The pools here are lovely. There are small pools and 1 large theme pool. Snagging a room near one of the small
pools is a nice bonus for quick midday swims. The main pool looks absolutely refreshing!
Compare this Disney hotel with another moderate property - the Disney Caribbean Resort.
I also found the Unofficial Coronado Resort Website where you can read all about this resort and see some great insider pictures as well.
